Director’s Commentary
This story contrasts the public success of a bestselling author with his private feeling of entrapment. By placing a city-slicker writer in a witness protection scenario on a working ranch, I wanted to explore the tension between the fiction we create and the dangerous realities we sometimes try to escape.
