The truth behind those four words ”He bled for me” is unshakeable. My Saviour bled for me. He gave Himself for me. Why would He do that? What did I do to deserve His loving sacrifice.
John 15 :1 3 (KJV)
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
I’ll tell you what I did. I did nothing. I didn’t deserve His love. I am what the lyrics of the song say “a worm.” And yet, despite my sins and my past, regardless of how many people I hurt or how often I turned my back on Him, He still hung on that cross when He could have requested twelve legions of angels to get Him down.
Matt 26 : 53 (KJV)
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
He knew I would spend eternity in the lake of fire if He got off that cross without first shedding His blood. He loved me too much to let that happen.
Heb 9 : 22 (KJV)
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Today, I realize that I am bought with a price. The great price of His precious blood.
On this Memorial Day as we remember the soldiers who gave their lives for the United States, and we do remember them, I remember Jesus’ sacrifice. I am grateful to live in the United States of America. I am grateful for the sacrifices of the men and women who gave their lives to keep our country free. Yet, I must also remember the God who was manifest in the flesh for the purpose of sacrificing Himself in order to reconcile me to Him. Thank you, Jesus.
Col 1 : 20 (KJV)
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.

Elle E. Kay remembers that He shed His blood for her. He bled for you too.
Incomprehensible. The ultimate sacrifice of love and forgiveness.
