We often hear people talking about trusting God through the storms of life. For many they are just words or pretty picture memes they post on Facebook. Some of us do rely on the Lord, and for us they are more than idle words. We know that our Rock is there to lean on when we are weary. He bids us to come to Him, just like all those years ago when He bid Peter to come to Him on the water.
Matt 14 : 28-32 (KJV)
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
We may not walk on water, but He reaches out to us just the same. He offers His hand, but it is up to us to grasp it. We can choose to sink in the waves of our adversities. To let the trials and tribulations we face overcome us and pull us under, but make no mistake, it is a choice.
Let’s choose to rely on Him. Let’s trust Him to see us through whatever storm is battering against our little ships. We may not be able to steer the ship. We may fear it breaking up in the mighty ocean of trouble that threatens us, but He is holding out His hand. All we have to do is reach out and grasp it.
2 Thess 3 : 16 (KJV)
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord [be] with you all.
Trust Him and choose peace.
